When planning your wedding, you must consider all the details that will make it perfect. Think about the décor, the venue, the amenities, the music, entertainment, food, and drinks.
Regarding drinks, you’ll need to decide whether you want to serve alcohol at your reception. If this is the route you intend to follow, we listed a few things to keep in mind.
- A Liquor License
First, obtain a liquor license from Florida. That can be done through the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Bureau of Licensing. The license cost varies depending on the county, so be mindful of that.
Once you have your license, purchase insurance that covers any potential damages that could occur from serving alcohol at your event. And Florida law requires you to have a licensed bartender if you serve alcohol at your reception – hire a professional bartending service.
- Types of Alcohol
Second, decide what types of alcohol you want to serve. If you’re not sure what your guests will like, it’s a good idea to ask them in advance. Do this so there’ll be various options available for all those in attendance.
- Amount of Alcohol
Third, how much alcohol do you want to serve? This will depend on the size of your reception and the number of guests you expect. It’s always better to err on the side of caution and have too much alcohol than not enough.
- Adequate Glassware
Finally, ensure you have enough glassware and ice for your reception. This is especially important in Miami, where the weather is warm and sunny!
